And 2 points in 2 AHL games.

Since the reports he may stay have come in the last few weeks, and that article is from last year, seems someone is desperate to stir the pot! Tell us again how much eichel likes boston college and he can name his own price as a free agent?

Trolling by a fan who's team missed the playoffs is always effective.

....Thumbs down to Buffalo Sabres' GM Tim Murray, but not for his expressions of disappointment at "losing" the NHL Draft Lottery; comments that have brought him criticism from other corners. The entire hockey world knew that Buffalo lusted after Connor McDavid - name a team that didn't - and there's nothing wrong with admitting that being in the driver's seat and getting out-lucked by Edmonton was a downer.

Murray should have stuck with that unfiltered honesty. Instead, he tried to cover it with the suggestion that - had the Sabres won the right to pick first - their draft meetings might have produced the opinion that Jack Eichel was the right choice. Thus, Murray wasn't disappointed at losing McDavid, he was just sorry he lost the chance to decide between the two highest-rated players. Eichel doesn't need to be told he might have gone No. 1. He'll roll his eyes if Murray says that to his face. Like the rest of us...

    Doubt it.

Sabres fans had McDavid signs up at games and were photographed wearing jerseys with a McDavid name over a current Sabre.

His comment was harmless but the spin doctors will jump on anything. Eichel himself didn't bite, nor care.

Unless Boston U. can pay him 925K per year, which he will make on his max ELC, Eichel will come to Buffalo. I know the name past guys who did stay for a year. They were not graded as high as Eichel and that includes Toews, who people are dying to use as an example. He was a surprise pick at #3 overall several years back.

McDavid and Eichel have been well publicized for going on 2 years.

While I was not a fan of Murray's comments I believe he was belittling the system for lottery and not the fact they get Eichel. Murray has always been vocal about his opinion that the team with the worst record should get the number one pick in the draft.

Also, Eichel I think one huge factor for not declaring is he knows how the system works and how he can get traded. Let's say somehow Murray trades up to number one for McDavid and Eichel is part of the deal. He may not want to go to Edmonton. He wants to wait until he knows for certain he will be playing in Buffalo.

Unless something odd happens, McDavid will be an Oilers player. There's no way that Edmonton even fathoms anything resembling a trade or coming off McD.

Things that could change Edmonton's mind:

1.) McDavid loves crack & all the drugs he gets / he takes.

    2.) Asteroid strikes Earth.

3.) McDavid gets physically injured & may not be able to recover.

Their GM said no chance they move but there's always a chance. I posted the reasons that would make it more of possibility but basically they will probably be more likely to move some previous first round picks for defense. They have to do something because right now their future looks dim, as seen on McDavid's face after learning who's picking first.
