The little money part just makes it easier to cut him. Right now he's probably here unless he decides he wants to "help" another of our young linemen, then he will be gone real quick. Or we actually do the right thing and add talent in the draft then we could part ways just as a cold football decision. I'm hoping for the latter. I don't mind that we signed him but let's just say if I was the coach his leash would be more like a choke chain.

Yeah I thought of that, but I was under the impression that Williams struggled pretty significantly when he played OT in the past. I can't say I ever saw Williams play before signing with the Bills, but I don't remember reading anything very encouraging about him. I'm willing to cut him some slack since I feel the coaching/scheme from last season was very inadequate, but I don't have any expectations for him. I guess if he makes the team he could play OT in a pinch. Hopefully it doesn't come to that though.

That may be for this season, but I think the concept is more to do with what the teams plans are beyond this season - which very well could mean drafting someone this season with the goal of having them ready to play next year after moving on from some of the veterans. Incognito is a stopgap in any event.

Why would the fact Incognito is CHEAP make it easier to cut him?
Unless a player has guaranteed money coming to him, the bigger the contract the more incentive there is to cut that player over a CHEAP player like Incognito.
Even if the Bills are able to pick up a starting quality Guard in the draft, Incognito is cheap insurance & won't get cut unless he screws up.
People forget about Jerome Felton a lot, I think.
That guy can block too. In fact, that's exactly why the Bills brought him in.
Does he account for nothing?

Yes, Incognito would fall into that "middle class" class of players.
But he is the best Guard on the team at this point & even if the Bills draft a Guard that could start right away, Incognito is CHEAP insurance.
If he keeps his nose clean this year, I would expect the Bills to sign him for a few more years on the cheap.
