I admit this is a click-bait souce, but they've never really fabricated anything. At any rate, maybe he's available?

The tank's over- we are getting Eichel. There's no need to take other teams' trash hoping they won't be trash here.
Inf he's not trash, why would Detroit give up on him so soon?
He is having a season similar to one Armia had last year. Some guys just need more then one year.
In Junior Manthas effort level was questioned at times..

Same thing, better link.
Maybe we can trade Zad for him...
wouldn't babcock know best on this? if he's a serious candidate, shouldn't we wait for his input first?
the thing about mantha is, and admittedly, i only took in a handful of griffins games this season, but most games, he was invisible.
but he still put up some points. my honest assumption is he just needs more time. the red wings are known for their patience (unlike many of us) with prospects, so give him another year in grand rapids, and let him grow.
but, if they truly are disappointed in him, wouldnt hurt for GMTM to call and kick the tires on him.
another thing from the article, the red wings seem to be killing themselves with this playoff streak, as they cant draft high, so the pipeline of future stars is drying out. it sounds like, to me, that the wings may see the need to reload and trade off some vets to get younger.
per damien cox, wings willing to move first round pick AND mantha. maybe that first is how buffalo moves up.
i was reading from someone, not a scout or anything, but another fan who watched mantha, and he compared mantha to thomas vanek. mantha is exceptionally skilled, but sometimes plays disinterested and also fails to create offense on his own, rather, supplementing other players who are creative.
and it got me thinking, wouldnt that be the perfect winger for eichel?
This wreaks of Hogson 2.0.
Mantha has more ability than Curtis Lazar or Kerby Rychel but was drafted after those 2 due to effort and inconsistency concerns that were raised when mantha was in juniors
