He already admitted that the Cheaters were guilty when he fired the two flunkies, despite claiming the Patriots were innocent of any wrongdoing. Why fire them if they did nothing wrong? This is him accepting the team's punishment, like Altanta and Cleveland accepted their punishments. Brady is still going to fight it, but he'll lose because, even if he wasn't the mastermind, he should have known the balls were under-inflated and ignorance on his part isn't a valid defense.
by being angry about it, it gives weight that deflated footballs mean something. and frankly, i think he's worried if his other cheating comes out.
they are tweaking all these rules past the rulebook and claiming individually these things don't make a difference. but in conjunction with all they do, it is a significant edge as evidenced by their outlier status.
