Sometimes, you have to give up something to get something. Much as I like Zad's skill, he'd have faced a MAJOR logjam to crack the roster in a few years. Same with Compher. You know full well Risto's not going anywhere.
Do NOT be surprised if we add a few D-men in the draft.
With way Murray making trades the only pick we'll have left that give us any talent worth a damn is Eichel.

IF we sign ROR if not then we've given up 4 prospects for a 4th line LW.
no one said risto in this trade. it was a different trade scenario.
Grigs had been mishandled from the get-go. Zads' loss will hurt, BUT there's a logjam of D-men. Ditto Compher. And who knows how the #31 pick will turn out in 5 years time?
I don't think TM would have made the trade if he expected that would be the result.
