Murray "it wasn't the player...it was how the contract was made up...I liked Cody, If I were here as GM at the time the deal was being made I would have done the deal differently mabe given Cody a bridge deal, not given him 6 yrs. @ 27M"

didnt they sorta give him that money bc they had to give it to somebody, knowing full well that unless he made some kind of big jump in his play they were most likely to eat it like they are doing right now

I'm sad to see him go as think CoHo is a top 6 if he's scoring but obviously he wasn't and that's why we let him go. I wouldn't be shocked him to latch on somewhere else and be a 20 goal scorer.

no. coho had a good rookie year, and the lockout shortened season, he played VERY well. then he got the contract. followed by a team leading effort the year after. the theory was he was going to be a top 6 forward at worst, and possibly a first line center for a very long time.

    then last year happened.

people still think he can become a top 6 forward again. he has great vision and good talent. but it wont be in buffalo.

He was, however, absolutely correct in what he said. Regier ruined the Sabres with crap like that.

Looks like Vancover wins the trade after all. They actually got something for their cast away.
