He knows the way to this team's heart is to be a highly-drafted cornerback.

He actually might have a better shot making this team as a corner than as a wr/gadget player. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. A lot of players switched between WR and CB in college, but I don't think I've ever seen a pro do it.
If anything I think it shows that harvin is willing to do whatever it takes to make the roster, which cant be a bad thing

Buster McClurskey....1946...And he kicked the ball and was the driver of the team bus. Seriously, let's put him at QB where he has a legitimate shot.
If this story is true I might have put more faith in Ryan than I should have.
He's gonna be a 6M dollar 5th corner!!!!!! Brilliance.
And there is no way Harvin isn't making the team at WR. They wouldn't have given him a 3M signing bonus to just cut him.

curious
theres no danger of him not making the team of course. and it appears the team has one of the deepest cb depth charts theyve ever had. so only via injury would percy ever be needed in that role and it would have to be a pretty desperate situation to take him off offense
i can see them granting his request by giving him a workout, maybe even a few token reps in an early practice. but frankly it would more to appease him and keep his attitude up more than a legit consideration i would thing. not enough return at this point to invest too many precious practice reps. i doubt anything comes of it

Harvin probably played some flag football this offseason and felt like he could lock down his side of the field while the QB simply ran anyways.

Yeah, after he was a UDFA and a bubble roster player who was trying to avoid washing out of the league. Not as a first round pick who made rookie of the year and the pro bowl as a wideout.
And it was done out of desperation after the Pats suffered a rash of injuries at DB. Not in training camp because he thought it would be interesting and helpful.

We are paying this guy $6M this year to experiment?
He should shut the **** up and try to be the best WR he can be.
I'm not going to jinx anything by saying exactly what I'm thinking, but I don't see much good playing Harvin at corner.

I guess so, but I don't remember that. Edleman did it too http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-e...orner-position

Apparently he took a couple of snaps at corner yesterday?
