Eichel, Gionta and Foligno as a line?

but when I look at the potential forward lines, I continue to envision Jack Eichel centering Marcus Foligno and Brian Gionta.

First, Eichel is young and playing with the captain (Gionta) could only benefit him. Gionta is a true professional, he knows the process, and he’s a fantastic family man to be around. Putting young Jack with Brian can help him off the ice on how to be a professional. There are so many things off the ice that Eichel will be learning about and having a seasoned veteran like Gionta is the perfect person to help him.

When it comes to playing with these two on the ice, their different playing types can mesh well with Eichel.

Marcus Foligno is a big, north/south type of player that likes to bang bodies and gets a large majority of his shots in front of the net. Foligno has shown some quick hands and offensive ability while being defensively sound. He gets deep on the forecheck and is willing to play the physical game, including fighting.

Foligno and Eichel can work down low with their strength and get plenty of chances in close. Add Gionta’s quickness, they could have an effective cycle and can open up the points. With the size of Foligno and Eichel, they can cause some havoc in front of the net for screens and tips.

Terrible analysis and reasoning..Gionta can mentor Eichel without playing on the same line as him...And WTF does Gionta having 3 kids have anything to do with him being a great role model and leader

I wouldn't be outraged if he played with Folino.

    Minus Gionta... Plus Ennis.

It's been so long since Sabres fans have seen competent hockey that some people think this would make a good line.

I'd put eichel on the third line for a few weeks till he gets more comfortable. Ease him in.

But I love Larsson on the third line. That kid really impressed me down the stretch too.

Eichel doesn't need to be eased in. At least on the wing.

he will be a handful off of the edge from day 1 and with Reinhart distributing and Girgs working the wall, I see a very young but interesting line.

My main issue with that is it's 3 natural centers on one line. Id like to see them stretched out a little. At least eventually. Grigs doesn't have the passing skill to be a top 6 center, but does have the finishing skill, so him being a winger makes sense.

Oh yeah Kemp was a stud but he sure loved the ladies. And opposite of his time on the court there was no glove to be found.

One of the first hats I bought was a sonics hat. Those boys were fun to watch. Payton was my favorite but Kemp could sure throw it down.
