Or a smarter GM might have reached for JJ Watt, or traded down & still had Watt, who was a lot more mature & has had none of the off the field BS that Darius has had.
Also let's not forget that in the next round of that draft when he took Aaron Williams he could have had Kaepernick or Dalton. Most GMs realize that a QB is a more valuable pick than a CB/S-not Buddy Nix. If you want to really kick Buddy while he's down, you can find a better player taken later in each round than Buddy took. Now we can do that for all GMs, but he shouldn't get credit for bringing guys in that a 10 year old kid with his budget would have.

Bills fans are excited about all the talent on this team, but don't seem very willing to give anyone any credit for it...I don't get it.

Nix was good at FA and pretty good at drafting defense. However he was atrocious at drafting offense and his repeat defense scheme switches kept undoing his progress there.
