If this is all about saving $$, then Cassel should be gone after the Detroit game.

Can we stop the belly aching here for a moment. This was a good decision. We have one of the most taleneted young rosters in the league. Every roster spot is important. No team is paying their #3 RB 2.5 million dollars. Karlos can run, he can catch, and he is 12 years younger. I love Fred but keeping a roster spot who most likely was playing his last year, although nice, is not worth cutting a guy with years ahead of him as a Bill. When the 53 man roster comes out than you can tell me excatly what player Fred should have taken the spot over.

    Absolutely disgusted with this move.

Guy played for pennies for years here and now he's just cut. Sad...

If Jordan Gay sticks, you'll have a pretty weak argument.

I hope hope hope hope that they sat down with FJ and said you can either stay here and be the 3rd RB, or we can release you if you want. That's the ONLY way I will be ok with it.

Turns out Pegula was actually the riddler pretending to be batman early this year when there was talk about trading FJ.

Now I will never trust what comes out of Pegulas mouth because of this. Business first.

Pegula seems like a fan. I bet he's sick about this but is doing what an owner should do. Let the coaches make the decision. I hate this move but would you want Pegula being Snyder or Jones and telling his coaches who's going to make the team? I wouldn't! Be mad at Rex Roman and Whaley.

Long overdue. Guy is always hurt, old, and makes too much. Appreciate what he did for us for years but glad the bills finally did what should have been done a couple yeas ago.

Like I said...when the 53 man roster comes out than make your case. Until then it looks like a solid decision. No team carries 5 running backs. Even if you hate Bryce Brown his upside long term is still better than a guy who is in his last year of playing.

Wow. I did not see this coming at all. I wanted Fred to retire in a Bills uniform and I thought he had earned that right
Wow. This must have happened fast. I'm gone for a couple of hours (working) and there's already 5 pages on the topic.

Sad to see the Bills chose the wrong QB. And let go the closest thing to a superstar they had.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss wouldn't rule out the Patriots making a run at free agent Fred Jackson.

But Ralph is dead and gone. And Pegula said money won't get in their way. Not buying this argument.

F that! Carpenter hit 6 50 yard field goals last year. Let him kick and make Easley earn his paycheck.

I would hate to see Fred lose his roster spot because of an extra kicker.

I only hope that they discussed it with him. "Fred, realistically, you have one year left in our opinion. We would love to have you, but we want to know if you want a chance to hook onto a superbowl contender and play a more significant role, or just be a role player here. Decision is all yours"

    Eh, I doubt it.

Ryan, Pegula and Whaley can all eat a super-sized bag of dicks. If this team keeps four RB's, there are three that should still be lower on the depth chart. Even if he is third or fourth, you keep him around for leadership. The 53-man roster excuse is complete bull**** considering SEVEN of that 53 are inactive every Sunday anyway. FJax can add more to this team inactive, in street clothes, than some scrub linebacker, dback or WR that will probably be gone next year anyway.

**** this move, I hate it. Freddie deserved better.

Then he can be an assistant coach, which is what I've been suggesting we offer him for months.
