It might be a respectful thing the Bills are doing for him too, knowing he's not going to start for us, release him now outright instead of dangling him on for a trade (which we could've), and let him have a say on where he wants to go.

I actually think the Bills are doing him a favor by releasing him, knowing he was going to be stuck on the bench. After such a good showing yesterday, his stocks are high and they let him go out like that. I don't think it's a diss at all.

Our team has suffered its fair share of injuries so far. I'm not sure Fred was going to just be riding the pine on the bench. One bad hit to Karlos or Shady (both of which have been hurt in the preseason) and its Fred time. Boobie and Brown are not as good.

This is a really sad day, I know FJ was getting up there and I have a feeling a lot of this was about $$ (Bills saved $2.7 million by cutting him) but this just sucks. FJax was the only bright spot through a lot of dark times in Buffalo and to let him go after all the work he has put in right when the Bills are on the upswing is just crushing. This man played for the Bills for 10 years not making a single playoff game and now that he could finally be on a team to make it there they cut him without even seeing if he would take less money.

I don't think McCoy is going to start more than 8 games all year. Williams is probably going to carry the load. We needed Fred. Brown is inadequate. Keeping two FBs is unnecessary. Kick off specialists? a 3rd QB (from this list of stellar choices). This move blows.
