I liked Fred but the past couple years he's been very replaceable.
The same way all teams take it when you move on from a player. The Packers traded Brett Favre..........the 49ers traded Montana.........it happens.

It's a tough loss for the organization but it had to be done. Good luck Fred don't think you aren't appreciated. His mentality took this team through hell and back to respectable.

It might be a respectful thing the Bills are doing for him too, knowing he's not going to start for us, release him now outright instead of dangling him on for a trade (which we could've), and let him have a say on where he wants to go.
