another reason they needed to win and not tie so many games in December. this is going to be a brutal stretch where they need the points and don't have their leader. you can feel the wheels coming off this thing. that being said, I think minor tweaks are needed for the team. not different GM/coaches. if we are in the same spot next year, then you got to think about scrapping GMTM or Bylsma.

Worst part is, outside of Nolan Patrick. Weak draft class. Might reconsider your idea to trade the first... Might wait till after the lottery, ya know, just in case.

Protect it only if its top 5... outside of that.. go get Duchene!

A top line of ROR - Duchene - Okposo will put points on the board.

Not sure what to even put around Eichel at this point.

Wings who can create space for themselves would be nice

Do you think Kane is a long term answer for one of those spots?

Middle six winger, sure. Top line, oh hell no. I hoped he would be, but his streaky production shows he's not. If the sabres had the depth to put him on the third line, I'd like that alot.

And Nylander will probably need another year in the AHL next year...

For sure. He's so young, but the talent is there. Asplund is apparently making huge strides as well. I listed some UFAs for next season that the sabres could use. I want wingers and a D

I like the idea of Vanek on Eichel's wing. He's so offensively smart... he can maximize Eichel's production. Plus... he's bound to teach the kid a thing or two a long he way.

kane is a banger that could balance things out for them... just not sure because of the consistency issue.

i really like the idea of Brian Boyle being brought in to be our third center... pushing Larson to the 4th line.

Or going big and going after hanzal for the third. Depth scoring a big boy. Could be had for discount

Well, he has 8 goals in 11 games. When Kane is engaged, he's a top line winger. Remember this post when we see him rattle off 2 goals in 19 games before getting hot again.

    Re: Sabres injury news.

I haven't been one of those people calling for Kane to be run out of town. He's at that point where he's either going to grow up or melt down.

He steikes me me a relatively intelligent kid... on the cusp of making that choice.

    I'm rooting for him.

Assuming he makes the right choice, he's got the makings of a very difficult matchup for other teams.

The other one one that has some growing to do... Jack. He's a few years from realizing the kind of hockey player he can be IMO.
