Many Leaf fans wish they would but when you are not the only entertainment in town you can't charge people $200+ for a ticket to see a team tank for a season.

For me tanking would be exchanging all of your NHL talent for unproven prospects or picks which means you have to ice a terrible team that is nowhere near an NHL team.

To me, that's just a rebuild. Getting older guys out for assets like picks and prospects. Especially how buffalo did it with expiring contracts. What, they are just supposed to keep them and let them walk for nothing?

Some people think rebuilding and tanking are the same thing. If that's the case, fine. But if so, teams tank every year. So what's the issue?

It had to be done. The guys they lost weren't coming back or weren't guys to rebuild around. It had to be done. And now, slowly but surely, we are seeing results.

I don't have an issue. I believe it usually is beneficial to the long term viability of the team. I was just explaining what I see as the difference between tanking and just sucking. To me tanking is synonymous with rebuilding. I don't know why it has a negative connotation.

Personally i think we've been doing pretty good for having half an nhl roster, and a career backup goaltender.

Not bad for a #26. The only one in that draft that was picked lower and done better is Derek Stepan.

I'm fine with Ennis as a player. He's talented as all get out and plays a smart game. I wouldn't mind upgrading his size though.

He has had a really tough season so far this year. We should expect 50 plus points for him year in year out if he's healthy. A second liner, really.
