The Eichel connection is interesting, but could it be a ploy to wrestle a bigger contract out of the Bruins?

Honestly, the Sabres would be a better option than the Bruins right now. More young talent, more cap space. The Bruins need a full rebuild.

for all the people who ripped pegula, the process is more or less working out. we have a couple solid top picks, we are on the up and up, and rookies can only cap out on money and term, still want to come here. so they have changed the culture slowly as billed. I really hope they get the fruits to their longer vision.
it has been interesting to be part of and to "be patient" with an actual plan. unlike the darcy days where we needed to "learn" that let downs were just inevitable. If they get Vesey (who I think is probably a bit of a headcase, but partially mitigated by friendship to jack) and cagiulla, they are looking like a young allstar team that just needs one more ROR type player who commands respect and keeps the youngsters on track. and maybe get that ROR-type on d. then the sabres have a lot of talent at a fairly cheap price instead of needing a stamkos.

To be fair to him, they went on a damn good run the year he bought the team making hit hard to make sweeping changes.

That would be sweet!
Not quite. He had 24G/22A totaling 46 pts.The Bruins could certainly use Vesey's size - 6-foot-3, 203-pounds - and skill - 24 goals and 46 assists in 33 games
I was thinking last night what all the Sabres could do to make Buffalo the destination of choice for talent. They are certainly doing a lot by putting in world-class facilities. And the city - while it's never going to be at the cosmopolitan level of say Toronto, Boston, or LA - has really shaken off a lot of dust in the past several years and offers a different pace of living that appeals to a lot of folks. Heck, an entry level contract with the Rags won't even get you in the door at Le Benardin and your Long Island bungalow is going to eat half your salary.
But kind of perks could Pegula dangle that wouldn't violate the rules to really sweeten the deal?
Lehner's history. He just doesn't know it yet.

who knew Alabama had a hockey team. I actually feel bad for that defensemen. even at college hockey, the disparity shouldn't be that wide that he could look like a teenager playing a bunch of 7 year olds.
Hey, now, watch it. UAH has a storied hockey program which includes the school's all-time leader in many goalie stats, Derek Puppa. No typo. :-) The most successful pro to come out of that program was Cam Talbot.
But yeah...Caggiula isn't going to be be able to do that in the NHL. I was looking at some clips and that one was pretty badass.

Back to Vesey...
Vesey would be another in the crew of Hobey Bakers in Buff...Kurvers, Holzinger, Drury, Miller, and Eichel.
