All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Look at it this way: Sam Reinhart had to head back to the WHL for a season after we drafted him to get him NHL ready. Hasn't affected his game, has it?
Lightning could strike twice with Nylander.
Nylander needs to work on his strength. I'm not sure he's ready for the AHL yet, but the SHL would be a big step up from the OHL
Buffalo adds 10 new prospects, trades for defenseman Kulikov from Florida
Joe yerdon writes about buffalo's draft class. It's a puff piece, gets you familiar with the new names, but it's a decent read on a late June afternoon
pysyk deal is a tough one. he made the dmen he played with better most nights. but he also doesn't stand out and have "wow" games. we'll know that value later this year of the panthers dman can make us forget him or if we moved on from pysyk too early.
Glotov just drafted by cape Breton of the Q In the first round of the CHL import draft (36th OA) and he seems to be excited about possibly coming over to play and develop in NA. here's hoping. It would go a long way for his career, IMO.
Draft grades. Gave the sabres an A- But did not like the pysyk deal.
Bleacher Report gave the Sabres entire draft class a B; it notes that Nylander was a strong pick and could end up playing a role on Jack Eichel's line(Alex's selection itself got a B+, in that it might be 2-3 years for him to be an NHL regular and that the team could use more immediate help). And as for Austin Osmanski, they call him a big defensive defenseman in an era where that type of player is fading from the game. It concludes "The team's first 3 selections(Alex, Rasmus Asplund and Cliff Pu)made the draft a success." (Sidebar: Though Cliff grew up in Toronto, he never truly became a Maple Leafs fan(guess why? ) and said that hearing the Sabres fans boo the hell out of the Leafs when they made their picks was surreal to hear.)
John Hemingway(facing certain death): I want to see Buffalo win the Super Bowl.
David Coltrane(threatening John): Nobody's going to live that long, pal.
