John Hemingway(facing certain death): I want to see Buffalo win the Super Bowl.
David Coltrane(threatening John): Nobody's going to live that long, pal.

No one talking about the Blue line additions?
One guy older than dirt won't be able to garner meaningful minutes. The other guy a mighty might that is familiar to Granato. Maybe a tougher version of Bryson. This means Bryson, Stillman, and Clague won't be back. Not sure it's necessarily an upgrade.
Connor Clifton got a 3 year deal. The vast amount of the free agents only got 1 or 2 year deals. Clifton led all NHL defensemen in 2022-23 with only 2.34 power play goals allowed per 60 minutes. He led all Bruins in the same stat from 2021 - 2023. Here's what you need to know:
He was also +20 last season. He's 5' 11" and 190 lbs. Sounds like a defensive version of Matthew Barnaby.Originally Posted by NESN
Watch Carolina. They have not yet resigned Pesce and signed Dmitry Orlov and Jesper Fast for their defense. Does this mean Brett Pesce is still a possibility for the Sabres?

Malcolm Subban, who was so good for the Amerks in their play-off run, is off to St. Louis. Hope he gets to see some time in the NHL. So the Sabres signed 2 goaltenders and a center for Rochester. Tokarski is back.
Sabres sign three players for Rochester, including two goalies
No Matt Savoie. Per Paul Hamilton, players whose season just ended are being given time to rest.
Lance Lysowski: Defenseman Erik Johnson said that he had five or six offers before deciding on the Buffalo Sabres.
Good keeping up on this. I have been busy busy busy
July 4th Sabres News.... Breaking....
Sabres re-sign defenseman Kale Clague to one-year deal
Clague was a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2016 NHL Draft. He’s played 91 NHL games with the Sabres, Kings and Montreal Canadiens.
The 25-year-old played 33 games with the Sabres, scoring no goals but picking up four assists. With the Amerks, Clague had one goal and five assists for six points in 14 games.
In addition to the nine NHL defensemen the Sabres have, they also have Clague, Jeremy Davies, Joe Cecconi, Ryan Johnson, Nikita Novikov and Vsevolod Komarov set to play this year in Rochester.
Sportsnet hockey insider Elliotte Friedman reports the Buffalo Sabres have re-signed defenseman Kale Clague to a one-year deal worth $775,000.https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/...php?pid=170195Kale Clague

Three teams who may be interested in Patrick Kane
Dan Rosen of NHL.com: (mailbag) Patrick Kane’s main priority now is rehab his hip but when he’s looking to sign a contract for next year, believe the New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, and New Jersey Devils will be among the teams interested in signing him.
Prediction is he’ll sign with his hometown Sabres.
Rochester has found new assistant coaches(to offset Michael Peca heading to the Rangers, and the other assistant going somewhere else).
Nathan Paetsch and Vinny Prospal are the new duo backing up Seth Appert. (Paetsch has worked with the Amerks before, so it's a return for him.)
BTW, the Amerks have announced their home opener...and as Count Floyd would say, it's "scary, kids....VERRRRY SCARY!" They're opening on Friday, October 13th. Opponent TBD.
Also, pen these days into your calendar:
-Friday, Nov. 24th
-Friday, Dec. 22nd and 29th
-Sunday, Feb. 18th, 2024
-Sunday, March 24th, 2024
Those are the 5 guaranteed home dates for the Amerks.

Could The Sabres Be Interested In DeAngelo??
Please do NOT do this. We don't need the NHL's white racist in the locker-room.
From 2 years ago: https://thehockeynews.com/news/has-tony-deangelo-run-out-of-chances
Offensive, 5' 11" right handed defenseman seems to last a year at each stop before getting into trouble.
LOL @ DeAngelo. Setting records....
Cap Friendly: Tony DeAngelo has become the first player to be bought out more than one time.
Sabres getting a new scoreboard
Edit: for 24-25 season
