I stand corrected. It says
An Okposo buyout would save them $3 million in cash buy spreading out $6 million over six years.

Welcome to Buffalo Henri Jokiharju
Since Okposo is paid in bonus money, Sabres wouldn't see any real cap relief for 3 years (Ironically his contract ends in 3 years).
Now if your concern is for how much "Cash" the Pegulas would save that's another topic.
Buying out Okposo's contract basically free's up a roster spot and nothing more.
I don't see Buffalo taking the cap hit just to keep Okposo off the roster.
Okposo buyout penalty spread out over 6 years.
2020-21) $4m in dead cap space.
2021-22) $5m in dead cap space.
2022-23) $3m in dead cap space.
2023-24) $1m in dead cap space.
2024-25) $1m in dead cap space.
2025-26) $1m in dead cap space.
First, what are the source of those numbers?
Second, how much would a buyout cost? That dead cap equals $15 million. If the buyout is less than $15 million, it's a net savings for Pegula. If he's as cash strapped as some of the reports suggest, he probably wasn't planning on spending up to the cap anyway. And 4 or 5 mil in dead cap stings, but $1 mil in dead cap in the out years won't make or break the team anyway.
My source is the article that was posted by Swiper that started this conversation.
I'm also a Rangers fan and buying out contracts is something they do often and you learn how it breaks down.
Swiper said the Sabres will save $3m in cash and he is correct, But they won't save much on the actual cap at all.
Okposo has 3 years left at $6m per year for a total of $18m.
If they buy him out, They save $3m in CASH because they would owe him $15m.
When you structure a players contract so that they get paid mainly in bonus money, It makes the contract near buyout proof.
If the Sabres buy out Okposo they won't save any real money on their salary cap.
The Skinner contract, WOOOOOF!!!
Victor Olofsson has signed a 2 year contract with an AAV of $3.05 M.

MSM doesn't understand why Sabres let Dominik Cahun walk. Oilers got a good deal.
Baby steps to a leap? Oilers add Dominik Kahun, another smart bargain

Kinda Sabres oriented, especially if you are on the nostalgic side: The latest edition of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, Greatest Know on Earth, has an article on the greatest Sabre NEVER to play for the team...one Taro Tsujimoto. We know the basics, but this article goes a bit more in-depth. (The company that produces the Bathroom Reader has one main encompassing Bathroom Reader every year, as well as producing books on a number of subjects every year. The book mentioned here is the former type of book.)
That was the draft pick that got Scotty Bowman a one way ticket outta town.
Well I remember that one wrong. Bowman got himself in trouble with the Euros that didn't work out.
Taro Tsujimoto (Japanese katakana: ツジモト タロウ; hiragana: つじもと たろう) is the name of a fictitious ice hockey player who was "selected" by the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres as the 183rd overall pick in the 11th round of the 1974 NHL amateur draft.[1][2][3] The hoax was created in protest of how the NHL's draft was carried out at the time: deliberately slowly via telephone so that the rival World Hockey Association would not know who was being selected. The NHL did not realize that no player with this name existed until much later, and in response changed Buffalo's selection to "invalid claim" in their official records.

Travis Hamonic. Is he any good? Would he fit in Buffalo. Rumors are Flames would consider flipping this left-shot d-man, for a right shot d.
