And when you're making the trade because said player is asking to be moved due to losing and being disgruntled, You don't hold all the cards.

And if DuBois and Barkov (Both younger and cheaper) come on the market things only get worse.

The Sabres can't afford another full on rebuild waiting on prospects and picks to hopefully develop.
Barkov isn't younger than Eichel. 2nd overall in 2013

    Ok.

    He's a couple months older.

If the sabres want to trade Eichel, they need to get younger. If they want to build around Eichel, Barkov is PERFECT. that 1-2 punch would be incredibly tough to match up

Who does Buffalo have to trade?

    Cozens?

Quinn? The guy you said that Buffalo could have had by trading down?

Oh, I never said they were gonna get him. In order to keep Eichel and get Barkov, they'd have to empty the cupboard

The Sabres don't want to trade Eichel. Eichel doesn't want that either. He wants a decent team around him. That's what he wants. Should start with getting better goaltending and a stay-at-home defenseman.

Preaching to the choir. But at a certain point, Eichel has to read the writing on the wall that this ownership group is completely incompetent and wont do those things unless it falls into their laps.

I'd love nothing more than the sabres to go out and get the help they desperately need.

Dont read this as I want to trade Eichel. I'm seeing this as he's gonna want out sooner or later

I'd RATHER they trade the owner. The one the Sabres have seems to be focusing all of his energy on the Bills that it seems the Sabres are but a distant afterthought. And it shouldn't be.

As much as we derided Tom Golisano for HIS penny-pinching ways, at least in the years HE owned the team they were always at the very least halfway competitive. This team isn't.

The pegulas have to maintain the lifestyle.

I tweet at kim everyday. At least she's getting pushback even if it doesn't matter

Oh, and they've refused to keep the arena up to modern standards as well.

The Buffalo Bills are playing in the AFC East Championship game.

The Pugulas have nothing to worry about.

You can't say that about the Riches and them owning the Bisons. They regularly keep Sahlen Field up to date(and in fact, when the Blue Jays came in last year, the lights got upgraded to major league standards...among other goodies). I wouldn't mind them being involved as part of an ownership group.

Also, Golisano’s penny-pinching ways was due to cheapness and greed. The Pegulas’ penny-pinching is due to necessity. They’ve run the team so poorly that wasn’t making money and it’s even worse now with COVID.

Word is that Dylan Cozens was promoted to line 2; he'll be working with Eric Staal & Victor Oloffson.

Samson has not been at practice. Is he out so Dylan moves up?

    Guess who's back....back again? UPL's back....tell a friend....

John Vogl of The Athletic Buffalo notes that Ukko-Pekka Lukkonen will be practicing with the Amerks tomorrow. He had been playing in Finland and his quarantine period is over.
