Will St. Louis have a goalie next year?
and while nillson numbers are ok for a back up I wonder if this years rule change on goalie equipment will make the guys who are just naturally bigger, better goalies.
They have Jake Allen and signed Carter Hutton yesterday
The Sabres signed Nilsson, who was a RFA, to a one year deal for $1 million

I feel we could have done better. But as long as ullmark stays in rochester to develop.

From what I read Jeff Zatkoff was the guy originally targeted. Apparently they had a verbal agreement and then Zatkoff decided nah, I'm going to the LA Kings. Zatkoff was the Penguins third string goalie and got to play in the first two games against the Rangers in the playoffs.
If Zatkoff wouldn't have reneged, then this trade wouldn't have happened.
Exactly. I wanted al Montoya originally, but he signed elsewhere
Probably the thinking but Ullmark will get his shot in camp. The trade cost us only a 5th. Not much out there and Murray did what he could. Whether Lehner is the long term answer is still a question mark but Murray was going to go with him anyhow this coming season. Tighten the D in front of him and it might be OK.
