I still can't comprehend his issue, but now it will cost him money in any case.

I think it's hard to know what is true and what's not. There is a lot of conflicting info about what the Chargers actually offered v. what Bosa actually asked for.

It appears to be a little more complicated than just the offset language.

But it can't be more complicated than offset language and schedule of bonus payment. It's slotted, fully guaranteed, and even the term is defined ?

Tom Cousineau says great that at least he made it. The Alouettes were calling.

              He's struggling with "tightness."

It appears that Joey Bosa is not practicing once again this week while the rest of the team is in pads practicing. Combine this with the fact that he has not yet practiced in pads as a Charger, he will most likely miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

                  Re: Bosa holding out

Chargers were being greedy and buckled in the end.

                  - their offset language was such so they would not have to pay him entire bonus/ bonus not guaranteed

= Would you take a 50% cut on guaranteed $?

The real cost is that Bosa missed entire training camp. In the end he got the right contract but he's not ready to play.... Stupid Organization known for being cheap

                    Nah.

His entire salary and bonus are fully and completely guaranteed by CBA via draft position. He was complaining over how much he got this year with the rest next year anyway. He wanted it all this year.

Offset language is entirely different. Offset language means you can't double dip. Your full salary is guaranteed anyway, if you get cut, your old team just pays the part of your guaranteed salary that your new team isn't instead of the whole thing as guaranteed on top of what the new team pays.
