Ranking the NFL head coaches by job security...Rex 31st

    31. Rex Ryan, Bills

Ryan moved from the Jets to the Bills last season, and his team went 8-8 with major decline from the defense. The organization distanced itself from Ryan in the offseason when he made a political endorsement and could lose even more patience if the Bills don't compete for a playoff spot. Ryan hasn't finished better than 8-8 over the last five seasons.

Must be a great year for coaches. I can't see Pegula eating 60% of Rex's contract.

Drafting injured players for the future showed what the team wants to accomplish this season, delaying the inevitable canning of Rex.

$15mil is pocket change for Terry and Kim. He doesn't even have to drill another well to come up with that.

If Rex fails miserably and the fanbase no longer want to buy what he is selling, he'll eat it.

That's never pocket change for anyone. Especially for folks that worked very hard to earn it. I don't like the Pegulas, but they are not stupid.

I agree. I just think that Rex failing 'miserably' is not the same thing to the owner as opposed to the fans.

The fact that they gave him a 5 year, $25 million dollar contract to begin with contradicts your opinion.

"The organization distanced itself from Ryan in the offseason when he made a political endorsement..."

Why would a republican free fracking billionaire like Terry Pegula have a problem with Rex Ryan supporting Donald Trump?

"Distanced itself from Ryan," say wha!?

They sound as fair and objective as CNN...cough.

    National media sucks!

    MSN.com can go blow me.

Yeah, I knew it was five and change per season, I was just rounding. Thanks for the accurate number, though.

Glad you admitted it, now get to the doctor, that tongue firmly implanted in your cheek is an issue.

You know it's not my tongue, Mace!

But I will admit it, I do like metaphors too much.

They can't be so smart if they listened to Dougie and Russ and hired this guy. He was hired because the circus sells tickets.. Smart money would have invested into someone that had a proven record , not declining stats.. The Jets were happy to get rid of him and happier that the Bills took him. I saw no tears in NYC/NJ when they handed him his hat, coat and and bags of peanuts on the way out the door.
