Tried looking it up, can't find nothing, but Pegula isn't a Polish last name. In fact it's a real rare name that doesn't seem to come from anywhere though it's attributed to eastern Europe.

On one hand you might think a meaningless surname has to come from a meaningless country where people are known for meaninglessness, like Canada. But I dug a little deeper and found a Croatian reference to the name, so he might be Croatian.

Interestingly enough, Croatia actually has a recognized language, as opposed to the garbled form of English spoken in Canada.
