I don't know why we would be negative on bylsma. he kept an ahl roster at .500 without his top 2 centers. and the second they were back they were 6-2-1 or something like that.

the real test are the games from Friday through new year. if they want to be in this thing, they have to beat the teams slightly ahead of them in regulation and pick up ground. if they are losing OT games and squandering more points, then it's over. but I'd like to see how the team does over the year as its health improves.

it is possible that the early injuries helped a lot of people get some experience and the healthy roster later in year with substitution with young game experienced players may be a huge help come march and april. but it also may not and we may be at a point of thinking about a change.

but I think the plan was a 2-3 year plan and it seems to be going ok when you factor in injuries and you consider they are still in this thing.

but that's the whole league. the kings game was crazy that there was actualluy offense and excitement. this doesn't feel specific to the sabres in the handful of non sabres games I've watched.

They got peppered early but got it together. The first goal Lehner let in was weak but he also made some huge saves to keep Buffalo in the game. Glad Eichel is ok after the cheap shot from Boychuck, although I think it was more sloppy than dirty on Boychuck's part.

I wanted them to buy out Moulsen in the off-season. Now I'm glad they didn't. He's been money in the dirty areas on the PP.

Bogo definitely looked rusty. Most of the game was boring. Too much time between the blue lines.

I do see Carrier creating chances but they never seem to result in goals. Of course, that can be said for all the top 6 right now.

I really thought a healthy Sabres team would be able to handle a team like the Canes by now.

Yeah the canes are supposed to be good this year and are above the sabres in the standings, but they didn't look otherworldly. Sabres could have won, but also stole a point from the canes, so three outta four weekend points ain't bad.

I would not be surprised one bit if TMGM packaged Kane and Girgs together to GET a top-pairing D-man somewhere down the road.

Besides, McCabe's not exactly chopped liver.

No Mccabe is proving himself a solid dman. Guhle could become a top pairing guy.

as I was saying earlier, this week up until new years is super important to be hot and win these games. splitting with the canes kind of sucked because they are above us. so we gave them a point which was better than giving them 2. but they need to beat florida and the canes this week. I am rooting for them to beat the isle as I will be at the game, but I think they can afford to lose that one. then they have some games vs bruins. if they come out with 1 loss or two 2 ties, they should be looking at a fun second half of the year. if they lose more than that, they probably are eliminated from the playoffs barring a few teams with horrid losing streaks or a very long winning streak for the sabres.

Watching Eichel, he's about to break out. Even when he's not making huge plays, he can make a small play to give himself some time and options. That's special even if it doesn't lead to chance
