So the Sabres are stuck with that crapfest on the blueline, at least through the rest of the year.
I dunno what you do as the Sabres organization to be honest. The team doesn't "need" forwards but could stand to jettison some overpriced guys. They could use a goalie and if I was a Sabres fan I'd be happy with Halak or Fleury over Lehner but after that there really is nothing out there that's gonna improve your team this year or into the future.
Guys like Iginla are pipedreams...they're gonna wanna go somewhere that can win for a chance at the Cup not come here and battle for not finishing last in conference and try to be a playoff team next year.

Shattenkirk has turned down long term deals in trade and signs before. I'm sure we could see us pursuing him as an UFA. If we could clear up some dead weight at forward spots by moving Zemgus, Ennis and Moulson I'd love to make a run at TJ Oshie as an UFA to gives a formidable top six. I'm not happy with Lehner and mentioned Ben Bishop before yet think that's the least likely scenario.

How is no one happy with lehner is beyond me. His numbers have been great, especially behind this defense
This team needs a bottom six not a top six.
Bailey should fit in nice next year and a healthy larsson.
Should be 4th line.

Larsson is a good 3rd liner but it wouldn't shock me if Las Vegas nabs him. I've stated before that not buying into the Bailey hype and much rather package him with a Dman for a better Dman.
That's the problem man... we r running 4th line players out there as 2nd and 3rd line players.
theres a depth of talent problem on this team and assuming Larson is our answer for the 3rd line pivot doesn't help.
His numbers are good but he rarely seems to be a difference maker or ends up giving up a bad goal at a bad time. I'm just indifferent about him which makes him "bad".
I agree with you, Zemgus is a poster boy for this thought. It's why I mentioned adding Oshie as a 2nd liner.

Yeah, no. He's been one of the better starters this year and his numbers show that. He stole plenty of games
3 games coming out of the bye getting only 1 sympathy point. It's the day of the trade deadline and the GM has been quiet so far. At what point do you start questioning the coach and the GM for these outcomes?

Fact is they only have 7 or 8 players worth keeping around. There had better be a lot of building over the summer. Starting today.

Georges immediately comes to mind. The problem is that he sucks and nobody really wants him.
As far as I'm concerned, the only ones on this team that are untouchable, are Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, and Risto.
The rest of them aren't even worthy of the expansion team.
And I was at that Amerks game last week...the future isn't very bright.
Bailey, Baptiste, and Rodriegez....that's it.
The rest of them are Sabres castoffs in the first place.
