    World Cup of Hockey

Anyone watching? US takes down Canada 4-2 in preliminary game. It was pretty fast paced and more physical then I would anticipate for pre-tournament. Quick really kept the US in it early.

Also Team North America (U24) defeats Team Europe 4-0. They looked fast and skilled. I think teams will need to be physical with them to slow them down. Now having a Stanley Cup Winning G could make this team dangerous.

Canada gets back at the US with a 5-2 win in Ottawa. Cory Schneider in the net for the US. Super fast paced action with a ton of skill on dislplay. Best on best hockey is so good!!!

As much as I love the Sabres, I have zero interest in this with college and pro football now going.

The games have been really exciting, surprisingly enough.

Team N.A could probably beat everyone.
Political correctness ( or cancel culture as it is called today) is a doctrine fostered by a delusional ,illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by MSM which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Team Europe is all the nations that aren't represented (Denmark, Slovakia, Norway, Germany, etc) and not traditional powerhouses like Finland, Sweden and Russia. Team North America is U24 from Canada and the US. I think the idea was to make a more competitive team as opposed to having a few walk overs like the above mentioned countries. It also puts some of the young stars on display who might not make their country teams.

I think the strength of the D will be the deciding factor. These aren't grown men yet and could get pushed around. In a game of pure skill, they have a good a shot as anyone.

You think? The West gave the East their Bi-decade Cup last year lol. Back to the west I think. The balance is getting closer than ever though. Will they be able to keep all the RFA's?

ROR is on Team Canada now, replacing the injured Tyler Seguin.

Kuch appears to be the odd man out. That's a shame but barring injury... they're the team to beat.

the difference between this year and last?

    Stamkos.

They are quick and skilled no doubt. Well they keep both goalies? Would you move Bishop for an asset?

I feel the Jets are starting down the path of quicker skilled players. Hopefully we can get some sustained success that Yzerman has going down there.

The skill level on that team is off the charts!

as far as goalies... so much depends on the Cup run And how much they rely on Vasy this year.

    Re: World Cup of Hockey

So pumped for my team but no the division. Playing Chi, Stl, Nas, Dal, Min all on a regular basis is not fun.

Canada squeeks by the Russians 3-2 in OT on a breakaway by Getzlaf in the final tune up for both teams. 1st game goes Sat for Canada against the Czech Republic.

US beats the Finns 3-2 in their last tune up. They open on sat as well against team Europe.

eventually Toews, Kane and Keith will get old though. Going through that many years of salary purge has got to take it's toll on the team too.

Meaningful games start today. Can plays the Czechs, with the US playing Europe.

Can vs USA tonight!! From what I read, this team was designed to beat Canada. Should be a tough fight and with team Europe 2-0, the US needs this win.

US didn't put up much of a fight from what I saw. I didn't watch much. but everytime I tuned in, Canada was scoring. Torts sucks as a coach.
