How do you figure that he's overweight? You do realize that Defensive Tackles are SUPPOSED to put on weight and have something of a gut, right? Particularly if they they are going to line up as a Nose Tackle.

You can't really say he's "out of shape" from there, either. He's been with the team all along, no? He's probably just not in "football shape," and how could he be unless he's playing football?

Dareus could of hit the gym and trained while not with the team for a month, he did nothing and knew he was getting paid anyways. I love how the team is playing but a player like Dareus could make us that much better, if healthy and in game shape. It's a shame, hopefully he comes around at some point in the near future.

There is a chance that he can come in relatively fresh and be ready to help us later in the season, wishful thinking but not impossible.

He's been pumping iron no doubt, but once the season starts they don't do a lot of agility drills for the obvious reasons. Hamstrings are often conditioning injuries, not enough stretching, etc.

The thing about both guys, with the defense playing well, and the medical staff not having a good year, they can afford to work them back gently.

Back in my day though, we worked on upper body so we could go after an opponent on our elbows. Didn't need no damn hamstrings. And shoulder surgery, phoo. Pound a railroad spike into the right place and your arm will stay in the right position where you need it to be. Modern game is soft though.

Dareus was allowed in the facility during his suspension. He worked out there and attended meetings. The only thing he was not allowed to do was practice. Didn't your sources tell you that he wasn't sitting around "doing nothing?"

Before week 5, when he was coming back after the suspension, I listened to an interview with Dareus on the John Murphy show. He stressed the fact that he needed to take it slow at first and be careful to avoid the type of injury he got literally in the next day or two after the interview. These are the dangers...he knew it, the trainers knew it, etc. but instincts kicked in, and he went too all-out with an extra burst going after EJ in a drill. Nothing for it.

Fitness doesn't automatically equal football shape. I've lost count of the amount of times that guys who have been suspended, come back, only to get a muscle injury almost immediately. League wide.

I also haven't seen or heard anything from the regular reporters, that implies for one moment, that Dareus's injury, was anything other than unfortunate, and these guys are the real sh1t stirrers, as opposed to yet another uninformed moron with sh1t for brains, making rabid assumptions just because they can.

This. You're either playing or your not & most knew that Dareus wouldn't be game day ready right after the suspension. The most being people who have to write his check after watching him play, it's frustrating.

Dareus was not allowed in the facility because he was suspended which means he can't be anywhere near the team facility. And he didn't attend team meetings because he can't under the rules of his suspension.

    Wrong.

Your assumptions are incorrect, sir...or maybe you have the same sources as our other good friend...

"While suspended, the 331-pounder was not allowed to practice, but was permitted at the team’s facility for meetings and workouts."

That's only the case if you get caught cheating while being a little b****, not for substance abuse related suspensions.

I don't think you need to be clairivoyant to realize that Marcell would need a few games after coming back from suspension to get into game shape. The way it is now, guys practice so little that they need the pre-season games to get somewhat into game shape, and even that's not enough.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but in injury news, looks like Miami's best safety Reshad Jones is out for the season.

Not just their best safety, but one of their best players. That's a big loss for their D.
