Now a parking lot with the only thing remaining is the brick wall which has the cornerstone on it and a rememberance of where the building used to be![]()

Thanks for the Larkin Blgd. info!
A liberalg time ago, as a lad, I worked for Niagara Mohawk. Started out as a summer help grunt for the Riggers (they sited the heavy transformers - fascinating work), then Bldg. & Construction out of Dewey Avenue (they taught me a lot), the the inevitable assignment to Meter Reading.
Reading at the time was a rotation to various areas - one day the west side, one day the Fruit Belt, one day the north towns and so on. So I got to see much of the old buildings and architecture of the City.
We have two FLW homes here in grand rapids. I drive by them every so often because they are spectacular
This Frank Lloyd Wright rendition is located on the grounds of the West Side Rowing Club. The boathouse was never constructed in Wright's time but was built from his plans.
Always loved his work. Soured on the import of it when Buffalo seemed to think it created tourist attractions and denied money to the Mercy Flight helicopter medical service to give money to the Darwin Martin House restoration. Think I remember within a week, Mercy Flight saved someone with a spinal cord injury and the Darwin Martin House said they were going to replace some windows.
Wright was an awesome architect, always loved his style, he designed places you wanted to see, be, and experience.
Shot down in flames by Mr. Pink....the comedy, the tragedy, the drama, pathos, schadenfreude, one dollar off on a happy meal with the correct coupon code. Dastardly destiny dooms daring....um....myselfs, me, Mace....I to despicable destruction, darn !
