Reports that Bills moving on from Tyrod

Again media speculation but just thought I'd share since no one else has

All signs continue pointing toward Tyrod Taylor playing elsewhere in 2017.The Buffalo Bills "don't have any intention" of picking up the quarterback's contract option and are planning to move on this offseason, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.Keeping Taylor on the roster through March 11 would effectively lock in a $15.5-million bonus and guarantee a staggering $30.75 million over the life of the contract extension he signed in August.Parting ways beforehand would see the Bills rid themselves of the vast majority of the five-year agreement and incur nothing more than a minor salary cap hit in 2017.Such a move appeared inevitable when the Bills - reportedly looking to avoid an injury that would stop the team from releasing Taylor by March - elected to bench the quarterback for their meaningless regular-season finale.Taylor's recent groin surgery has the potential to complicate matters in that regard, and a team statement confirming the procedure Thursday appeared to hint that the arrangement was made without team input. An expected six-week recovery should have him healthy in more than enough time for Buffalo to cut ties and, as a separate report from Schefter adds, the Bills were involved in the decision-making process.Taylor's standing among the league's top signal-callers remains very much up for debate. However, given the success he enjoyed across his first two seasons as a full-time starter - providing Buffalo with its best quarterback play since the Jim Kelly era - it's curious, to say the least, that management would be so set on parting ways. The 27-year-old Taylor completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 3,023 yards, 17 touchdowns, and six interceptions across 15 starts in 2016, adding another 580 yards and six scores on the ground. If he's indeed allowed to become free agent, there should be no shortage of quarterback-needy teams interested in Taylor's services. The annual average salary of $18 million that Buffalo was initially willing to dish out over the summer may only scratch the surface of what he could demand on the open market.Taylor's replacement would presumably be targeted either when free agency opens or at some point early in April's draft. After a 7-9 record in 2016, Buffalo owns the No. 10 overall pick in the opening round.

If Tyrod moves to another team, becomes a better QB and wins for them. Buffalo will look stupider than they do now.

Getting rid of Tyrod is simply a bad management decision.

You keep him and add to the QB depth chart with a vet and a draft pick.

Exactly. How many times are the Bills going to repeat the same mistake over and over and over. You don't move on, you move up. Don't replace a guy until you already the replacement (who has already shown he's better.)

who replaces Taylor? I know he isn't Brady or Rodgers but I would say the d was holding us back more than the o.

and outside of Darryle Lamonica when have the Bills let go of a QB who then went on to have long term success elsewhere? Fitzpatrick was good in 2015 but this year think most Jets fans happy to see him go after this year.

Ok but what does that have to do with Tyrod?

Tyrod is young, has played less than two full seasons and based on what we saw in his final two games he was improving on his deficiencies.

What we also don't account for with Tyrod is his effect on the running game. And I don't mean the yardage he adds to our totals.

LeSean McCoy is a great running back but he gets afforded extra space simply because defenses have to honor the backside runs from Tyrod.

Again, if our D was top 10 in points allowed per game we would be in the playoffs.

Not a surprise at all, let's just hope he passes the physical first.

Some of the names I'd like to see: Foles (if cut), McCarron, Hundley

Im surprised that they would think this before hiring a coach. You would think they would ask the input of the new HC first . Then again who knows anymore with this team?

If Lynn is the HC all this time and the other coaching interviews are just for show , then Lynn must not think highly of Tyrod.

                        Not at that salary.

Why did it take him up to those final two weeks? I just don't see "it" in Tyrod. He reminds me of JP Losman/RJ wrapped into one. He'll tease you thinking he has it but at the end of the day disappoints you.

You dump him b/c you can't drop $27 million next year on a QB that can't win from behind or without a gigantic performance from his RBs.

I thought his 2015 preseason was lights out and he's spent now two years learning under McCarthy and Rogers.

In four preseason games in 2015 he went 45 of 65 for 630 yards, 7 TD's, and 1 INT. He also started the Week 3 preseason game which went against the Eagles Starting D, in that game he was 22 of 31 for 315 yards, 2 TD's, and 1 INT.

I think he could be a cheaper trade option who has good size, good arm, and athleticism.
