    He's in KC right now because he goes way back with Andy Reid, back to their NE Arizona St. Tech days.
    So who do you think they should bring in?

    I want experience and the wide scheme/spread. Single back, multiple option, primary short and intermediate routes. If he will run that fine.

    That's Kansas City's entire offense.

    McCoy or bringing back Lynn were my first choices.

    Since we're talking about lateral moves..

    Tom Clements-GB;
    Rob Chudzinski- Ind;
    Ken Whisenhunt-LA Bolts.

    Clements is the solid, sane choice.
    Chudzinski has shown the ability to run either a run based offense (Caronlina) or a passed based offense (IND). And even though Carolina was a run based offense, Newton still threw for 400 yards. And damn..the guy had a top 10 offense with Derek Anderson.
    Whisenhunt is a better OC than HC.

    for the up and comer, off the grid choice, Sonny Crombie, TCU. Forget this past year, they lost nearly everyone on offense, either through leaving school or injury.

    But if people want a fast paced, passing offense, he'll bring it. In his 1st year at TCU (2014), he improved their PPG by 20.

    Ok. Maybe I am wrong. I would be willing to give the guy a chance (not that my opinion matters). A lot of his success came from having Brett Favre in 2009 - 2010. But not all. I remember the Vikings fans giving him a hassle.

    I mentioned Childress before, but I don't really much like how this is going. They're not going to fish for a young guy, imho.

    Wouldn't those be lateral moves for each of those guys?

    Re: Childress or Greg Olson

    I know waiting is a gamble, and some of these teams are in the playoffs, but why not look at some of the top offenses and hire a bright up and comer position coach? Atlanta, Dallas, Pittsburgh, NO, GB, etc. Heck, how about trying to steal someone away from NE? Why Brad Childress or/and anybody that's been in Jax? 🤢

    Re: Childress or Greg Olson

    Why would Childress leave a good Chiefs team? And why would they let him leave?

    He doesn't actually do much there. He's co-OC, and doesn't call plays.

    I'm beginning to think it may be Clements and/or AVP from Green Bay...or else we're running out of options and are going to be screwed.

    Foles is awful....

    I would be going after Chip Kelly tbh. I like AVP too, but Packers O is def great due to Rodgers and not scheme... but AVP has now been around the block a bit and may be ready

    I didn't realize Clement was already 'Associate head Coach' in Green Bay so that probably eliminates him.

    I still think its a bit odd that the offensive staff is being hired without an OC in place.

    Kinda makes you wonder...I'll be OK with it if they've already got a guy in place and are just waiting for him to become available, getting his input/choices as they move along. Not OK with it if they are filling out the position coaches without knowing who the OC is going to be.

    Unless we secretly interviewed someone on a playoff team whose contract expires and he's given McDermott a list of guys to pursue.
