    Bruins fired Claude

The Bruins has terminated Claude and scheduled the press conference for the same time as the Patriots parade. Douche move.

I fully expect that they're blowing this whole thing up. Everyone knows this isn't his fault, they simply suck at scouting talent.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I'll admit that I don't pay much attention to the Bruins but they're only 1 point out of a WC and they could still play themselves into a division seed. Seems like odd timing- almost like they're giving up on the season when they are still within striking distance of the playoffs.

The writing has been on the wall for a while. But this is basically Sweeney's last chance to keep his job, hoping that this team somehow responds. They won't.
There's too many bad contracts and not enough talent. In fairness to Sweeney some of those contracts are hangovers from Chiarelli. But his biggest weakness is finding talent.

I don't follow them that close either. I knew there were rumors, but compared with the Sabres the Bruins are on solid footing.

    Here is some interesting perspective:

    On the Buffalo Sabres …

Mike Harrington: The Buffalo Sabres are not going to fire head coach Dan Bylsma. He’s in just his second year behind the Sabres bench, and the team just is not good enough yet.

Mike Harrington: “Behind EVERY NHL coach who has been fired this year is a GM who made major, major screwups. Now think about Bylsma again.”

So it sounds like the King is right. Julian will land on his feet somewhere.

NHL.com: The Bruins have a 26-23-6 record this season, good for 58 points in 55 games. Julien is the Bruins all-time leader in wins and has a record of 419-246-94. The Bruins made the playoffs in seven of his nine years behind the bench. They won the Cup in 2011 and made it to the Final in 2013.

Pierre LeBrun: “Julien has this year and next left on his contract paying him $2.5 million this season and $3 million next year”

Joe Haggerty: “Don Sweeney press conference at 1130 and interim coach Bruce Cassidy speaks at noon. All under the cover of the Patriots victory parade”

This was Sweeneys hail mary at saving his own job. But Jacobs never shouldve allowed him to make this move.

Biggest hockey move in Boston since the Bs got Chara and Savard.

    Well that didn't take long.
