I went to an XFL game in NJ vs LA. After the USFL folded without me ever going to see a game, I vowed to see every new league play at least 1 game if there was a team within reasonable driving distance. I also attended a UFL game in Hartford the league's 1st season (NY vs Fla,). I even got into an internet argument with a writer for the Hartford Courant because the announced attendance was nowhere near the actual attendance and I e-mailed him asking why he quoted the announced attendance without writing that it was bogus. I told him I believed he was going along with it because Hartford wanted a team the next year (they got one before the league folded). He got mad at me for questioning his integrity & said there was no way I could know the attendance figure was padded. I replied that not only had I counted the fans in the stands, accounting for the possibility that some were in concession stands, but also took photos in the 1st or 2nd quarter of all sections of the stands to verify my count. He never took me up on sending him the photos & letting him count for himself.
