Bucky Brooks "The Book on Jabrill Peppers"

Interesting informational read. I'm back to not being sold on anyone, but Peppers is still intriguing. Just seems like a perfect T-2 guy.

Overall, I believe Peppers is a Swiss Army knife-like defender with outstanding playmaking potential. He should thrive as a "Rover" around the box with the capacity to deliver splash plays on selected blitzes or in coverage as a designated tight end stopper. With Peppers also capable of energizing the return game with his electric running skills, I think he can be a key contributor early in his career as a "two-phase" standout.

I'd take him in round 2 but have not been a fan of those who have him at #10 in mocks

At this point I'm just waiting to see how the combine pans out. Can't positively say I'd want him at #10 either depending on who else might be sitting there. Probably I'm preferring they trade down for more picks anyway.

If he comes in at 6'1, 220ish then you're going to hear a lot of Thomas Davis comparisons.

I see a lot of reports that say "production doesn't match potential" and that scares me. We already have too many guys on the team like that.

Well, the article notes Michigan used him at 8 (safety, cornerback, nickel defender, linebacker, Wildcat QB, running back, receiver and return specialist). I mean that's a lot of potential that's rarely matched.

I mostly wonder about his size in the pro game in terms of durability. How much can he bulk up, how does it affect his speed and athleticism ? It'll be interesting to see how he shows up at the combine, imho.

Better or worse than Darron Lee? As to me Peppers is a guy you draft in the early twenties of a draft not top 10 even he becomes another Thomas Davis.

He wants to play safety. Got his agents to convince combine officials to work out with both LBers and DB's.

The man is athletic. He did the LB drills and will do the DB ones also tomorrow. Have to say I'm impressed.

Re: Bucky Brooks "The Book on Jabrill Peppers"

I would have ZERO problem drafting him in Round 1.

I have a list of several guys I like with our top pick and he's one of the ones. He is really built, fast and shows no fear of coming up to the line and blasting ball carriers. Can blitz off the edge. Plus he can run and cover. A hybrid SS/OLB our new coach would probably love.

In addition, he's been used on Offense and is a sensational returner. He's an absolutely freakish athlete.

If they call his name for the Bills, that's a happy face moment.
