    Is Murray on the hotseat?

I know that Pegs is still paying Marrone and Rex... perhaps soon to be paying Blysma.

millions of dollars being spent on people who haven't produced results and that are no longer here.

    Murray was extended in October.

Personally I think there's zero chance Murray gets axed, but my question is this... is Murray really building an organization?

If so... what signs exist that show him doing that?

I see signs coming together. The top 6 forwards are good. There are a couple Amerks on the cusp of breaking through, namely Bailey and Rodriques. Forward depth and speed is lacking. Goaltending has been sufficient. The D needs a lot of work. Risto is great and McCabe is top 4 but it's weak beyond that.

I wish they were farther along but it's hard to see any real reason to fire Murray.

Plus, is there not special legal protection for the mentally ******ed from being fired?

He's not mentally ******ed. He's definitely on the autism spectrum though.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- At a time when the Buffalo Sabres are dealing with a series of season-opening injuries, general manager Tim Murray can at least take comfort in knowing he has earned some job security.

Entering the final year of his contract, Murray signed a multiyear extension Thursday about an hour before Buffalo opened the season hosting the Montreal Canadiens.

    *facepalm.

He said in the first post that Murray was extended. This thread is about whether he should be fired for cause. Two different things.

Fair enough, but if he's on your ignore list, why respond to his threads, especially when you don't know the content?

Murray and Bylsma should both be fired.

Murray can't build a team and Bylsma is an underachiever.

I never liked Murray to begin with, but firing him means ripping the entire thing apart again.

It's Bylsma, who's decisions puzzle me.

I think Pegula is learning you don't keep handing out 5 year contracts to coaches who can't coach.

Now he has to eat a 2nd one. New coach is obvious.

And if you want a new coach, may I suggest you look at Erie Otters HC Kris Knoblauch? In his time there, he's coached Conner McDavid, Dylan Strome, Alex DeBrincat and more than a few other players who have consistently burned up scoresheets. They have a nasty good defense and goaltending has been very good. Since 2013-14, they have won at least 50 games/season-and are on track to do so again this season.

Basically, what I'm saying is....He is THAT DAMNED GOOD.

    That makes sense.

So expect Ken Hitchcock to get a 5 year deal in July.

There's 2 guys named Raddysh; Darren's on defense and Taylor is on RW. (Darren gets a lot of his points via assists.)

NT: I presume you're joking about Hitchcock; he's said this is his last season.
