One of the worst QBs ever. Thing was you could see that coming from a mile away watching his college play. Any personnel man that couldn't see that doesn't deserve his job. He didn't change/develop one iota in the NFL. Just absolute garbage. Get out. Stay out.
And yet, he looked great in that come from behind win against the Panthers a few years back.
WTF happens to QBs when they hit their sophomore seasons here?

Manuel’s NFL career hasn’t been smooth. He was a rookie starter who lost that job in his second season, a setback for a physically gifted passer from Florida State hoping for better.

For what it's worth--and I'll grant it's probably not worth much--the preliminary Raiders depth chart has Conner Cook ahead of Manuel. Cook was a rookie in 2016 after having been drafted in the fourth round. Even as a rookie he did some good things. If he builds on that in his second season, I don't anticipate him having much trouble staying ahead of Manuel on the depth chart.

Manuel signed a little, unguaranteed contract to be the Raiders 3rd string QB.
Like I said. He never belonged in the NFL in the first place. He's embarrassingly awful.
Bills fan, "We drafted E.J. Manuel. For several years afterwards, we lacked a QB, and had a directionless football team."
Raiders fan, "We signed E.J. Manuel as a free agent. Immediately after which, we lost our football team to Las Vegas."
