He might be able to help fill that role (as can a healthy Sammy), but he's not faster. Goodwin is one of the fastest players in the league and posted one of the best 40 times at the combine's history at 4.27 (and was more productive at the collegiate level than KL)

Goodwin's effect on a defense is more substantial than all 3 however. His production might be spotty (partly because of misuse) but the D must account for his deep speed threat. John Lynch and Kyle Shannahan know a LITTLE bit about football.

All they have to do to account for him is look on the Injury Report under the "OUT" category.

And players are greedy. Players got jealous over rookie contracts, so pushed and got the rookie cap.

Now they are unhappy that teams are dumping FAs in favor of the cheap rookies, and meeting their cap minimum requirements by inking a handful of marquee nameswith to big $$$ contracts.
