Jeez. Enough about Lindy coming back, people. I know about Carlyle and Julien but Lindy had his 17 years. That ship has sailed. (1/2)

And let's not forget, for the first years after we all got on Twitter, all I heard was "When are they gonna fire Lindy?" Jeez Louise.

Ruff-ruff-rough
I've always said that I'd like to see what Ruff can do without being hamstrung by Golisano's cheapness and Darcy being, well, Darcy. That being said, the timing doesn't feel right. I'm not sure Ruff could do any better with this team than Bylsma.
Also, we have one of the best PP's in the league. Ruff had terrible PP's- even with teams that were high-scoring. I remember joking about being able to decline penalties like football. He'd **** it up.
well I don't remember '99 that well but I do remember the PP struggling even in the Briere/Drury days, and definitely after. It was frustrating as hell because the PK was good, so clearly they understood how to shut down a PP- they just weren't able to translate that into scoring on one.
Yeah. And Darcy got him Briere, Drury and Miller to begin with. I was the biggest Ruff supporter here up until he was fired. Everyone wanted him gone. People railed on me for wanting him. But he was lousy with lines. He was lousy managing goaltenders. 17 years in Buffalo. 4 in Dallas. There's a track record there. I still like the guy a lot, but would think long and hard before embarking on another 17 years of tears.
