    Round 2 Targets

We hold the #44 pick in the second round and here are the top 15 players on the board per CBS Sports.

    RB Dalvin Cook - FSU
DT Malik McDowell - Michigan State
    CB Kevin King - Washington
    CB Chidobe Awuzie - Colorado
OG Forest Lamp - Wake Forest
    OT Cam Robinson - Alabama
QB DeShone Kizer - Notre Dame
    OLB Zach Cunningham - Vanderbilt
    OLB Tyus Bowser - Houston
    FS Budda Baker - Washington
    FS Macrus Sanders-Williams - Utah
    DT Chris Wormley - Michigan
    DE Carl Lawson - Auburn
    CB Quincy Wilson - Florida
    FS Marcu Maye - Florida

If I'm putting together a Bills Wish List for the 44th pick (12th in the Round) it would go:
    CB Kevin King
    OT Cam Robinson
    OG Forrest Lamp
    OLB Zach Cunningham
    CB Chidobe Awuzie
    FS Budda Baker
    SS Obi Melifonwu
    ILB Raekwon McMillan
    CB Quincy Wilson
    SS Josh Jones
    WR Chris Goodwin
    OT Dion Dawkins
    OG Dan Feeney
    COMING SOON...

    Second round options?

WR is one spot they may go.

Zay Jones from ECU- obvious link to his ex head coach who is now the Bills Receivers Coach
Cooper Kupp from Eastern Washington- Super productive gadget type WR
Chris Godwin from Penn State- Big and fast. The Bills have shown interest

But the guy I want is Ju Ju Smith-Schuster from USC. Maybe a bigger version of Robert Woods. Finds the open spots, makes tough catches, has some wiggle. Not as polished in routes as Woods but has good size and adeqaute speed. He's the possession type we want with some extra wiggle.

    Found this quote from him:

“Honestly, I’ve been playing Madden with my boys, and I created a franchise and I created my player, and I went to the [Buffalo] Bills. Throughout the season … it was snowing and I’m like, ‘I gotta get traded.’ But I picked the Bills because I like [quarterback] Tyrod [Taylor], and Sammy [Watkins] and all those great receivers. And they have nice uniforms, so I went there and I demanded a release, and then I signed with the Raiders for a three or four year deal contract for, like, $26 million and it was cool. It was me … and [receiver] Amari [Cooper] and we were dominating, we were the franchise. We’re almost to the Super Bowl, about to meet up with Tom Brady …”

    I want Smith-Schuster personally.

    But I'd also love:

    Cunningham
    Baker
    McDowell
    Zay Jones
    Godwin
King- That would generate buzz... back to back CB's. You can never have enough. Especially when you play the Nickel so much

Or even Sidney Jones who I think will play this year

If we go back-to-back corners we're going to have to take turns visiting cookie at the assisted living facility and spoon-feeding him his oatmeal.

Robinson won't last to our pick.

Besides, with our zone blocking scheme you need a lighter more agile RT and Kujo may be a solid option

We could use the help and if the value matches...

I'm really not comfortable with a CB depth chart of:
    Darby
    White
    Seymour
    Roberson/Gaines/Cromartie/Johnson

We may not go CB back to back, but if we get a shot at King or Awuzie, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.

    Re: Round 2 Targets

Only watched one game of his, but I was very impressed with Smith-Schuster's hands. Usually the WR/DB ATH types in college are more athlete than true WR, but he looked more polished than I expected.

I really don't want Malik McDowell.

Agreed. I think one of those 7 remaining picks will be a CB,if not 2. Still, one of those FA's will have to step forward and make the team. Let it play out in camp.

    Re: Round 2 Targets

I think my ideal Day 2 would look something like:

    44 - LB Zach Cunningham - Vanderbilt
    75 - QB Nathan Peterman - Pitt
    91 - WR Josh Malone - Tennessee

Oh..you might not be too far off there.

The "defensive back reigns supreme" strategy began the year my youngest was born.

He'll graduate from high school next year.

I envision someone sneaking into a cemetary and chiseling on my tombstone "But it was great value, you'll see!"

With Kizer still on the board I think Peterman will fall to Round 3, right where I wanted to take him.

Could be, but I just don't think he's worth more than a 3rd right now. If he gets taken before 75 then it'll be ok. I also like Kaaya as a Day 3 option.
