    For real?

They will magically have a real defense or you're gonna chop his head off too?

I'm fine with the Bills and Sabres taking 1 step back to take 2-3 steps forward.

Both franchises have been doing it wrong for far too long. No immediate unrealistic expectations. Patience sucks but the new guys in charge didn't create this dreck.

Just feel like I've said that over and over for the past 20 years.

Oh, come on. Ten years ago, the sabres were at least the gold standard of the league. Just never won the whole ****ing thing. 06 was bad luck. Nothing more

I was more referring to the Bills with that comment. But the Sabres of the past three years certainly has been some of the worst professional hockey I've ever witnessed.

smart move and really really opens the roster to some of the youth.

Here's my stab at a roster:

    Lehner
    Johnson

    Scandella - Risto
    McCabe - Bogo
    Antipin - Beaulieu

    Kane - Eichel - Okposo
    Nylander - ROR - Pominville
    Girgensons - Reinhart - Bailey
    Pouliot - Larsson - Fasching
    Moulson

Lot of confidence in Nylander. I dig it. Wouldn't mind seeing him start the season in Rochester and have to earn his spot, but if he earns it in preseason then obviously this take will age poorly.

He may very well need to spend the year in Rochester, but would love for him to develop with talent... and couldn't think of two better linemates for a rookie to play with than ROR and Pominville.

Guhle has been skating with Risto yesterday.

On defense Brendan Guhle spent the whole day paired with Rasmus Ristolainen. Both Guhle and Ristolainen like to gallop up ice with the play and I was thinking that could be a problem. Phil Housley disagrees, “No, they just have to read off each other. There’s going to be one time that a guy is going to be digging a puck out of a corner and the other guy will be free and he’ll be able to join the rush. Certainly we don’t want to have them both joining the rush, but that’s great, I like their offensive instincts, I like the way they passed the puck today, so that’s something to look at as we move forward.”

if Guhle can hang with Risto... will go a long way to changing the defensive depth on this team.

    honestly... it's a game changer.

Well I don't think you can call it anything more than a pre-season "look see". I would highly doubt Guhle stays with the big club this season.
