We traded Ennis and Foligno for them, I just got that call.
Beat me by a minute, but you forgot a link
No trade call done yet but assuming it proceeds without hiccups, it's Pominville and Scandella to BUF, Ennis and Foligno to MIN.

And by call, you mean notification. Everyone got that call, bud. Stop trying to pretend you're someone important

I'm not sure I like this. Good to be rid of Ennis' contract, though. I'll miss Foligno.

Solid trade IMO...
Scandella has $4M cap hit next 3 years (Badly needed 2nd pairing D)
Pominville has $5.6M for 2 (Much more productive than Ennis)
vs
Ennis @ $4.6M for 2 (no value at all)
Foligno @ $2.25 this year only (UFA next season)

a Jason Botterill left a voice mail on my phone early this morning . Who is this guy? Asked for my advise about bringing back a former sabres favorite player. Don't even watch hockey.

A Buffalo friend contacted me, where did I say the Sabres called me ?
When does Teppo get lured out of retirement? Paul Cyr...is he still alive?

"hey Minny, it's Buffalo. Remember that dead weight we unloaded on you a while back? Can we get that back in exchange for some other dead weight?"
I dunno, to be honest I think this is a pretty poor trade by the Sabres.
Exchanged one bloated contract for an even worse one...skill wise I think Pominville and Ennis are a wash. Then exchanged a young gritty cheap forward for an overpaid defenseman. I heard there were some draft pick considerations thrown in but unsure of the particulars there, speculation is a Buffalo 3rd and Minnesota 4th. Scandella was Minny's 5th best D-man and helps them clear money for Dunba.
On the plus side for Buffalo, they are a team who desperately need blue line help but I'm unsure if taking on 5m more in salary to do it was the right move. You have guys like Del Zotto, Stone and Daley in FA who would all be top 4 guys here and come at less of a cost. The other plus side is Pominville was a fan favorite, so I'm sure he'll bring some more merchandise sales and ticket sales.
But the Sabres are a team who are still rebuilding and taking on more contracts, on a team that already has plenty of bad ones, is not really the way this team should want to move for the future. You're trying to compete to get the 8th seed, I don't see how this trade brings you any closer to that while adding on more salary.
The only thing about Pominville is that he did well when we had Briere and Drury to do the heavy lifting.
He's not gonna be one of the main guys- he'll be behind Eichel, ROR and Reinhardt so hopefully he won't get a lot of attention and that will help him.
I sit in the team family section during the games by accident I guess, I must just find the locker room and pre-game field tickets online. Let's compare chairs this season when you hit the games for Buffalo sports, let's see where we are at then. Does that sound fair ??
I'm actually doing a business with previous Bills alumni as I write this, pretty neat deals actually but that has nothing to do with all my connections.

Skooby... Regardless... It's not a good look for you. Just look at the likes... None for the skooby.
Pommy is another Moulson at this stage of his career, which is good and bad. Good in that a good third liner and can step in on the top 6 line or powerplay but bad in that he's grossly overpaid for his production but with Eichel being grossly underpaid we can afford to over pay someone else. I like the move as gives us a top 4 Dman under a fair contract. I just hope it doesn't mean we lose out on Shattenkirk.
