I liked the pick long term...since it only was a late 5th rounder with no real gamble.. but Taylor would have to have a major injury this year for someone else to see the field.

Bills had an opportunity to let Taylor walk and kept him for year 1 of an entire new regime.

I don't know if rushing him in is the best idea, I think a lot can be learned from the sidelines. It would also give him a year with proper strength and conditioning which could help with his questioned arm strength. Taylor is under contract, let him be the bridge to next season.

Based on that highlight video he seemed okay but not great. A lot of throws to wide-open targets. There were one or two times when he hit targets moving vertically, or even horizontally. That's good as far as it goes. But it also seemed like there were a couple times when targets had to slow down to wait for the ball, and that's typically not a good thing.

I'm not writing this guy off. For a fifth round pick, he's worth taking a chance on. Even if he's not the answer at starter, maybe you at least give yourself a quality backup.

My expectation is that the Bills will use a first round pick on a QB in next year's draft.

If the rookie outplays Taylor in training camp and pre season, McDermott is going to have a very expensive backup QB in Tyrod Taylor.

The chances of that happening are slim. cookie G made it obvious, but we can't help but hope and dream for the team to be great again with a star QB.

Taylor will likely win the QB competition, but if the Bills are 1-4 or even 2-3 at the BYE week it's over for Taylor.

The Bills are not going to pay Taylor $18 million in 2018 if Peterman can do the same thing or better.

His program was also better than Peterman's who had 5 TD's / No INT's against arguably one of the best teams in the nation, probably the biggest upset of last season.

That's about where I am. He can maybe get a bit stronger, but the accuracy and intelligence is a nice starting point. He also seems to show plenty of poise.
