You might like to believe that, but I spent years as an analyst. That means I was trained and paid to think about things. You don't "overthink" anything. No one does. You think just enough to see things the way you see them. You have a mode of thinking that leads to a quite predictable endpoint. 1-1=0 If you thought anything all the way through, you would understand the other perspective enough to not feel the need to correct every positive with a negative. Zero does not have to be the sum of every damn conversation.

If you spent years as an analyst, then you know promoting the good while refusing to consider the bad is going to get you in a ****-ton of trouble.

And, like I said elsewhere, we miss out on the crop of QBs coming out of college this year. I hope they can use that extra 1st to the best of their advantage. How would it be to get into the play-offs AND then get a blue-chip QB prospect.

Ok. I need to wake up and remind myself this is the Bills.

I would say that that is impossible -- both play-offs and blue-chip QB prospect.

If we were 3-13, we could use our 1st round pick and the KC 1st round pick we have and trade up to draft a potential franchise QB.

That is what it would take.

I'm honestly not real comfortable with them trading up for potential, they just haven't traditionally done it effectively.

Maybe McDermott & Co. will change my mind, but I think they need build a solid young reliable core before rolling dice and spending picks on all or nothings. When you look at some pairs of players you can get in the 1st round these past few drafts, well, we could use them.

If we go 3-13, it will be clear that the future QB is not currently on the roster.

If there are 2 truly franchise QBs that do decide to declare for the draft, 3-13 may be a 3rd overall pick and I would gladly package it together with the KC 1st round pick and take one of those two top QBs.

In a freaking fan message board? You just absolutely missed the whole point. I hope it was on purpose. Also, that is not always true, necessarily. There are circumstances where ignoring the negative is advantageous. Your particular brain just isn't programmed to see that possibility because, like I said.... 1-1=0. This is too funny.

Except the guy who wrote it wasn't posting on a fan message board. In fact, he was targeting non-fans and only telling them the "why" while ignoring the "why not". He was creating unrealistic expectations by painting the team in a way-too-positive light. And you are absolutely wrong. Ignoring the negative will only allow the negative to come up and bite you in the ass.

Seriously? You just said you were an analyst but there are times when ignoring something is advantageous. That's an oxymoron. Being analytical means understanding anything that could affect the situation, positive, negative or otherwise. If you think you're analytical but knowingly ignore something, you aren't being analytical by definition.

Overcoming the bad is all I give 2 ****s about, the good speaks for itself.

I enjoy rooting for teams like the Browns, Lions, and Bills... one day, it'll happen.
