    Re: QB Watch Thread

This is who I'm watching in Week 1:
JT Barrett (2018) - Ohio State v. Indiana
    Josh Rosen (2019) - UCLA v. Texas A&M
    Josh Allen (2019) - Wyoming v. Iowa
    Wilton Speights (2019) - Michigan v. Florida
    Jake Browning (2019) - Washington v. Rutgers
Will Grier (2020) - West Virginia v. Virginia Tech

Game of the week is absolutely Josh Allen v. Iowa. Iowa always has a strong defense and they were top 15 last year in points allowed. Should get a good look at how Allen can handle the elevated competition.

Close second is probably Speights (Michigan) v. Florida, if he was a bigger prospect that game would probably be tops and it has far more draft prospects.
    COMING SOON...

I love my Buckeyes but Barrett has Graduate Assistant written all over him.

      The CFL, maybe.

That Heisman Trophy winner's food fight ad was good.

Barrett looks meh, but Lagow looks like a legit sleeper prospect. He's throwing to a lot of open WR's but he's making good throws and quick decisions.

              He sure is.

As to Barrett - meh, too. But his receivers are not getting separation, as the announcers say. but they also don't seem to be coming back to help out Barrett.

Looks like their dumb pass-pass-pass that ended up with a FG, and their reluctance to go for 2 after their 1st TD may come back to haunt.

                Meyer & Co. looking bad.

                EDIT:

                Timing is everything, eh?

Allen showed the good with the bad yesterday v. Iowa. He had no time for most of the game and made some really baffling decisions. He clearly has a rocket arm but his throwing motion is all arm which is worrisome. He's extremely raw (rawer than Mahomes imo) but he's got a lot of "it" to his game. He thinks he can make every throw and isn't afraid to try. He's also a really good athlete for his size and was able to escape more than a few sacks.

I like the kid, but his numbers v. Power 5 schools are bad and he needs a big game v. Oregon late this year to show me he's a guy you take as a franchise QB v. a guy you take hoping he grows into a franchise QB.

Brilliant in the 4th quarter-292 yds & 4 TDs. Took the team on his back & carried them all the way back . Passed for 491 yards total.

He was good, but I'm not sure I'd call him brilliant. His 42 yard TD throw was a horrendous decision.

So was the one in the front corner of the end zone. Close your eyes and throw up a prayer.

I'll give him credit for hanging in there, rallying the troops and pulling out the game though.

No question, huge pluses for his ability to lead and rally his team. A team who doesn't believe in their QB doesn't pull that off last night.
