Guys like him seem easily replaceable, and sometimes are. But when you lose a guy like that and can't replace him, you notice.

If you look at his numbers, outside last year, he's a solid depth guy who can produce. And we are learning that about him quickly. Certainly not worth his fourth overall pick in 05 (one spot above Carey price) but he's decent. I hope he sticks around. Great guy to have over moulson and other dead weight.

The Okposo-O'Reilly-Pouliot combo is killing it, tonight. Wow. -3 after one?

We aren't getting a top 5 pick for Kane, because those teams arent gping to trade for him unless its a sign and trade deal. Realistically I see us getting t a low first, a top prospect and maybe a Moulson salary dump.

I said it was a dream!

Ideally, for Kane, we trade him to a playoff team for their first and a top prospect. Since the first will be later. So we are on the same page there

That was the worst I have ever seen these guys play, which is saying a lot considering just how bad this year has been.

Wha galls me more, were Housley's post game comments. Played well? Was he watching the same game?

At what point do you say, perhaps Housley, who is a very good amateur coach, isn't ready for this level?

I wasn't really big on Housley as coach from the get go. It's early. We'll see.

Bogosian is back at practice and skating. Beaulieu & Gorges should be back later this week.

So...the D will upgrade from horrendous to somewhat less so?

Can't believe how often this team coughs up the puck. The D-men are beyond horrid and Lehner is not a good Goalie. It's time for Ullmark.

It's the same situation the Bills constantly find themselves in. You want to give the coaches a chance to bring in their guys and install their systems, and the players benefit from stable coaching. But things are spiraling out of control, so it's that tough choice between allowing time for stability versus sticking with something that clearly isn't working.

    Tonight should be a loss....

    -----------------------------------------------

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Things continue to go from bad to worse for the Buffalo Sabres in their first year under coach Phil Housley. They will look for a different result at home on Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals.

Buffalo (4-8-2) has lost three of its past four games and is coming off one of its most disappointing performances of the season. On Saturday, the Sabres fell to the Dallas Stars in a lopsided 5-1 road defeat.

"When I evaluate the game, I think we played well," Housley said. "The score tells you differently, and there's probably going to be a lot of people that disagree with me. But I think we got the start we wanted. There were some bad bounces that occurred."

One of Buffalo's biggest problems in the loss to the Stars was goaltender Robin Lehner, who was pulled midway through the first period after surrendering three goals on seven shots.

"I have to be better," Lehner said. "It's a game of mistakes. I made a mistake there, and together with a bounce and a good goal there, it's 3-0. It's unfortunate.".....
