The All Buffalo Bills drought team: S

Since it's looking like the Cornerback race is a runaway let's talk about safeties. Some interesting candidates here with Jarius Byrd being the favorite, guys like Corey Graham, Byron Scott and Troy Vincent were too brief IMO.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

    Donte Whitner

    Lawyer Milloy

I think Aaron Williams was good, but injuries got him too soon.

I have to go with George Wilson if for no other reason than this...

Coy Wire was the quintessential tweener who skated on ST ability.

Donte Whitner is trash but I'm sure the Donte Whitner Anti-Defamation League will come out to vote for him.

I went with Ay-Ayron but Byrd is a close second and I can't fault anyone for picking him.

Byrd or Vincent is the best S this team has had during the drought.

              Toss up.

George Wilson was a converted WR, while he wasnt an all pro he was more fun to watch than all of the above. I loved his work ethic.

Byrd may have flopped when he went to New Orleans, but he was great while he was here.

And if we're doing an all drought team, then there should be two safeties. I would vote Byrd as FS and Milloy as SS.

Byrd was good for like 5 minutes of his pro career.

Milloy (as a Bill) >> Byrd

I think people forget because he was farther back in time.

Except it was 31-0. He was number 36 though :)

the horrible thing about that game is we lost to them in week 17 that same year (to the pats)
final score? you guessed it. 31-0 Pats.

even though I know theres no way to ensure it happening, I always wondered if Darth Vader (Belichick) was shooting for that specific score in some sort of dark, evil revenge.
                              I came.
                              I saw.
                              I conquered.
