Uh, it created the federal government. I think you need to get out of Atwater a little more often.

Well first, the Constitution expressly forbids deprivation of life, liberty or property without due process of law. While having more kids than you can care for is a ****ty thing to do, it’s not illegal. So, somehow you’d have to pass laws against having too many kids. And that would be tough because you’d have opposition from both sides. You really think conservatives who don’t even think birth control should be part of health care would agree to forced sterilization? Come on.

If you somehow cleared that hurdle, the Constitution also forbids cruel and unusual punishment. Good luck convincing the Supreme Court that forced, unnecessary surgery that renders a person infertile isn’t cruel and unusual.

I mean, conservatives don’t want to teach sexual education, so people know how to avoid pregnancy. They don’t want access to birth control and don’t want birth control to be part of employer-paid health care plans. Then, after not providing the knowledge or the health care to avoid pregnancy, they don’t want abortions. Then, after not providing the means to avoid or terminate an unwanted pregnancy, they get mad if a mother needs assistance raising the child. It’s a completely asinine mentality. And you want to take it a huge step further with forced sterilization? Gimme a ****ing break.
That's interesting. Your argument *seems* to be "there are too many legal and social impediments" to such legislation.

What I believe Ublink is proposing it that this OUGHT to become law for the sake of society, or the general good.

Are you going to address that argument?

Edit to wonder: why isn't this in the Spin Zone?

Or the other way around: the reason there are so many legal and social impediments to such a draconian idea is because it’s such a draconian idea.
