QB Index: Ranking every quarterback to start a game in 2019

QB Index: Ranking every quarterback to start a game in 2019

    Josh Allen is ranked #18.

    Individual Rank: Bhanpuri: 18 | Blair: 19 | Filice: 17 | Parr: 18

    2019 regular season stats: 16 games | 58.8 pct | 3,089 pass yds | 6.7 ypa | 20 pass TD | 9 INT | 510 rush yds | 9 rush TD | 4 fumbles lost

Filice: Still far from a finished product, the cannon-armed, fleet-footed 23-year-old showed substantial improvement in Year 2. And he continued to flash a clutch gene, tying for the league lead in fourth-quarter comebacks (4) and game-winning drives (5).
#18 sounds about right. Josh needs to step it up in 2020 and advance his development more than he did from 2018 to 2019.

Don't agree with a lot of this list. Some of it is ridiculous.

Matt Schaub may be the best back-up in the NFL (unless you still consider Bridgewater a back-up). As this article points out he can still fill in and throw for over 450 yards off the bench. He led the entire NFL in passing in 2009. He has thrown for over 4000 yards in 3 seasons. That, folks, is an enviable back-up QB.

It's a credit to Brandon Beane that after 2 seasons Josh Allen is rated as the top of the 4 QBs drafted that year. Especially being that he was the 3rd of the four taken. Love to see him crawl up into the top 12 NFL QBs this coming season.

Although Gardner Minshew II had a better season than Allen did (LINK) and was a 6th round pick.

Matt Stafford at #8 for playing half of a season? I can't agree with that.

Bridgewater ahead of Goff and Rivers? I dunno...

Lamar Jackson was a first round pick also.

There is a lot on this list that is just wrong. Kyler Murray's rating? Really? And that these 4 "experts" were all in such close lock-step on each pick makes it seem like the whole thing is fabricated. But I guess it's good to start a discussion such as this.

Well...of course you can disagree all you want. That's what ranking are for.

But, this is a ranking of Qb's STARTS....not their career. What Schaub did in 2009 is irrelevant. As it is his stats for 2019 were pretty dismal...

    2019 regular season stats: 6 games | 74.6 pct | 580 pass yds | 8.7 ypa | 3 pass TD | 1 INT | -3 rush yds | 0 rush TD | 1 fumble lost

His only start of the season had the Falcons down 21-0 at the half. His 460 yard is fairly typical garbage yards against a prevent defense. The Hawks still lost that game 27-20.

This ranking seems pretty accurate for his performance in 2019.
