Well damn.... the night before the race and this happened.

Dislocated wrist, broken radius and broken bones (yes, plural) in the wrist. Can you believe that the ER doc thought it necessary to actually say, "You will NOT participate in this race."

    Re: Starting over..... again....

I'm out of the cast and into a brace. I'm still not allowed to lift with the left hand/arm, but am cleared to do range of motion (gentle) exercises. The physical therapist even said that I can start easy running on flat and level surfaces. The bruising is almost gone and the swelling has decreased significantly.

So, yesterday I went to the YMCA and did 2 slow and easy miles on the track.

Thanks! I'm not thrilled with the indoor track thing... but I can't risk a fall at this point in recovery lol. (we've had snow and ice here already)

Still running slow and easy at the YMCA. I had to go buy a clicker (lap counter) from Hel-Mart... because there's no way I can keep track lol Yesterday, I completed 46 insane laps (about 2.5 miles)

This was after the wrist was put back in and my arm was splinted for the flight home.

The surgeon said there were "4 big breaks, and I didn't bother to count the small ones". I didn't have any damage near the elbow, everything was near/in the wrist. One of the breaks went straight across close to the top of that plate.

Very cool... and yup, I can see it along the top of the plate.

Very cool, sorry you broke it, but the new RAD tech in me wanted to see ... the tech who took th before surgery pics didnt use proper marker placement

    Hope you heal quickly

Those before pics were done by the ER in Boise, my friends snapped pictures with their phones. I don't have the before pics that the surgery center took. :)
