Kanell steps closer to backup QB job

HOUSTON - Conclusions, like excitement, can be tough to come by during preseason football.
Yet the Broncos' 20-12 victory over the Houston Texans in the teams' preseason opener Saturday night at Reliant Stadium was not entirely devoid of them.

One of the most notable involved the gap between Jarious Jackson and Danny Kanell in their battle to be one of the Broncos' backup quarterbacks.

    It is closing.
