67% of Americans Support an Assault Weapons Ban

86% of Democrats do and 46% of Republicans (46% oppose).

How dysfunctional of a political process do you have to have when 2/3's of Americans can be completely ignored by politicians saying an assault weapons ban is a "non-starter"?

Room full of Philadelphia Police Offers are cheering a call to ban assault weapons.

    One man is blocking everything.

I have to say I honestly like the Cocaine Mitch moniker. Don’t get me wrong Moscow Mitch rolls off the tongue well, but it’s not as humorous.

I have no respect for anyone who owns an assault weapon legally or illegally.

If you are a hunter or target shooter, I get the rifle and/or shotgun.

However, to own an automatic or semi-automatic large magazine gun is just whacked.

I've had mine for 20 years. They're 10 round magazines and registered with the state police per NY law. They're functionally equivalent to same caliber hunting rifles, they just look scary to ignorant people.
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

Majority of Canadians want a pipeline but we cant have one. Another trudeau lie.
A very disturbing trend in Canada now is that Justin Trudeau's behavior and lies have become 'acceptable' . . . more disturbing yet is his cabinet of brain-dead penguins have accepted his criminal behavior and have surrounded and support him. Those same brain-dead penguins have a lesser grasp of 'ethics' than their leader . . . . this country is in deep poo.

You figure the Liberals are in the way of a pipeline?

It is the Natives that are.

    Should we just shoot them?

Right now I am sure Justin would like to kick a particular ones fat ass.

So the weight the length and rate of fire and muzzle velocity are the same?

Majority of the natives bands want them. The few that are being paid very well by the anti pipeline groups don't want them. And we bought the pipeline that trudeau said would start this construction yr. Well this construction yr is about to end. And it was trudeau that changed the rules that they will never get approval. Maybe you should pay attention to what he is doing instead of what trump is doing.

Yes. Rate of fire is semi-automatic (1 bullet per trigger pull, any more than that is illegal nationwide). Muzzle velocity is a function of barrel length, weight of the bullet and the amount of powder in the cartridge. As an example an AR15 used 223 remington which is a round for smaller sized animals (coyote, raccoon, etc). Weight difference is negligible to any adult.

Haha. They mostly sit in the safe nowadays except for periodic maintenance but they always come with me to the target range when I get the chance to go.

Iím not sure we should enter the slipper slope of majority rules.
Draft a franchise QB that X-Era would be proud to put in his user name for the next 13 years.

The FBI and CDC Datasets Agree: Who Has Guns—Not Which Guns—Linked to Murder Rates

    AUGUST 6, 2019

As the United States reels from three back-to-back mass shootings—which occurred within the span of eight days in Gilroy, Calif., El Paso, Tex., and Dayton, Ohio—Boston University School of Public Health researcher Michael Siegel says that mirrored analyses of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) homicide data serve to double down on evidence that controlling who has access to guns has much more impact on reducing gun-related homicides than controlling what guns people have.

“Using completely different datasets, we’ve confirmed the same thing,” says Siegel, an SPH professor of community health sciences. “The main lesson that comes out of this research is that we know which laws work. Despite the fact that opponents of gun regulation are saying, ‘We don’t know what’s going on, it’s mental health issues, it’s these crazy people,’ which doesn’t lend itself to a solution—the truth is that we have a pretty good grasp at what’s going on. People who shouldn’t have access to guns are getting access.”

Siegel’s latest study, published July 30, 2019, in the Journal of Rural Health, reinforces previous research findings that laws designed to regulate who has firearms are more effective in reducing shootings than laws designed to control what types of guns are permitted. The study looked at gun regulation state by state in comparison with FBI data about gun homicides, gathered from police departments around the country. Analysis revealed that universal background checks, permit requirements, “may issue” laws (where local authorities have discretion in approving who can carry a concealed weapon), and laws banning people convicted of violent misdemeanors from possessing firearms are, individually and collectively, significantly able to reduce gun-related deaths.

    ......

I fully support all of the bolded parts. There are 50%+ more homicides in the 37 states that don't use universal background checks. If the whole nation was on board it would probably drop even more because people wouldn't be able to cross state lines to circumvent the law.

Any politician that touts the 1994 assault weapons ban as a "success" is a charlatan - manufacturers just changed cosmetic features of the firearms to circumvent the law entirely. The homicide rate has been dropping steadily since 1980, it's not because of your law.

The majority also want the wall built, mass deportation of illegals, abortion restrictions, and the death penalty to name a few.

So yeah I don’t think we should make majority rule laws.

I shoot both,The scary looking Gun is WAY better and easier to use.

Weighs nothind the recoil is child friendly and the barrel length makes it ideal for close quarters.

I can get some really awsome add ons for it too.

Perfect weapon for those pesky animals that like to hide in tight areas when I'm out hunting.
